Exploring Chicago

Updated: Jan 11, 2019

I was fortunate to visit Chicago in November so had two days to see the city. It was my first time to Chicago... the windy city :)

Despite the freezing cold weather (max temperatures of zero degrees) and 35 hour journey to get from Cape Town to Chicago, I really loved the city.

Such a diverse and beautiful city with it's towering skyscrapers, beautiful architecture views of Lake Michigan, gardens, the 'bean', art museums, shops, L-train, Chicago style hotdogs and deep crust pizzas :)

I got to see Machela a good South African friend. We had deep crust pizza at the popular Giordanos :) and also went up the to the SkyDeck in the Willis Tower.

I went to the Chicago Cultural Center and happened to catch some beautiful classical music and also got to see the amazing Tiffany dome with 30,000 pieces of mosaic.

I did the Big Bus tour around Chicago so got to see and learn about the city. I went up 360 Chicago - such great views! I went to see the Blue Man Group which as entertaining - even got to stand next to one of the Blue men after the show.
